I uploaded my precompiled version to
<URL:http://www.student.uit.no/~pere/linux/>. Give it a try, and let
me know if there are missing files. I run it like this:

SANE_NET_HOSTS=sane-host ./scanimage -L

I expect a net.conf file would work too.

I'd be glad to test it, but I'm running out of time. I change job in
a month. :-)
