35mm film scanner, roll film

We are in need of a film scanner that can handle 35MM strip film in lengths
of about 3 feet. The film cannot be cut.

The negatives are from a high speed video camera that takes about 400 images
scattered around on 2 strips of film in a certain order. The images are
in 2 stripes along the length of the film.

We currently use a Polaroid SprintScan 35mm scanner that does the job
but all placement is done by hand. The SprintScan works well because
the film path is across the front of the unit and it does not matter
now long the strip is. We have modified the unit in house to accomodate
moving the film strip with a serial controlled servo motor. Now we
just need a better interface than a plugin to PhotoShop.

Is there any work being done to support Polaroid film scanners in SANE?

Is there a comparable type of film scanner that is supported by SANE
that would allow us to automate the process of scanning long strips
of 35mm film?
