I installed sane 1.00 from the FreeBSD ports collection, and had a problem
scanning big coloured images: the kernel complained about:
cam_periph_mapmem: attempt to map 68712 bytes, which is greater than
DFLTPHYS(65536)
I applied the patch posted by Parag Patel <parag@cgt.com> on this mailing list,
and now it works perfectly.
FYI, I attach the patch here. I'm going to send it to the FreeBSD folks as an
additional patch to the ports tree. I think it should be included in the next
release of sane.
Many thanks to everybody for this nice program!
Bye, UP
