We have in the past had an Agfa Arcus Plus scanner attached to a Sparc 2
machine running SunOS. We apparently had some software to drive this. The sun
has now died, and all of our current machines are running Solaris. The old
software will not run on the Solaris machines (according to our sysadmin). As
such, I'm looking for a new method for using this scanner. We are currently
chasing up pricing on some commercial software, but I was wondering how easy
it would be to use 'SANE' for the job. From reading some of the docs, it looks
like it's not directly supported, but there are some comments indicating that
it may not be too difficult to add support for this scanner (i.e. it may be
similar to ones for which support is already available).
Does anyone have any advice/suggestions/hints before I delve into this
further??
Thanks,
Ash.
