A couple of problems, first I downloaded 1.00 and compiled it
all except for xscanimage. It complained about undefined symbols
in libgimp.so
g_error
g_debug
and a couple others.
i suspect that this a version mismatch between libgimp and the
newer gtk+ libraries. Is there a solution/workaround.
Other than that I installed the software but can not get it
to work with my canon 620P scanner. I created a canon.conf
file with the line
/dev/scanner
in it (where /dev/scanner is a symbolic link to /dev/lp0).
When I run scanimage --list_devices i get a Segmentation fault.
Note. I have the scanner and a canon bjc 4400 printer daisy
chained to the parallel port. And when I run the scanimage
as described about, the printer prints a page with a "*)" on
it. If I turn the printer off and run scanimage, the process
just hangs.
I also tried installing the older rpm (0.74 or something like
that). With exactly the same results. Is there a secret to
this, or does it just not work with my scanner?
