Canīt say anything abaut your test kernel since I got a standard 2.0.36.
But at first my Astra1220s worked fine under Windoze but my CD-Burner didnīt work. Under Linux
the burner worked but I sometimes had system-freeses when I used the scanner.
I figured out that the SCSI-bus was to long. After switching the cable itīs OK.
Iīve got an oldfashioned Adaptec 2940 which should according to the manual support a total
BUS-length of 6m.
Well, it doesnīt. The problem occured with about 4 m.
Just my 0.02$
