Hi Thomas,

it looks like you have problems with the scsi-hardware or the
scsi-kernel-driver.
Please check:
- termination of the scsi-bus
- scsi cable length
- if you selected the right scsi-driver and options

Sane is not able to find the scanner, because the umax-driver does not Identify
it
as a UMAX scanner!
