Hi,

My Umax Astra 1200S works since 6 months with its own SCSI card, but it
works bad and slowly under Linux. Now I got a Tekram DC 390(T) SCSI card.
The card is my only one and the scanner is the only SCSI device. The card
seems to work fine with the Tekram driver from 2.0.35, but the scanner is
not recognized by SANE (īscanimage -Lī lists no devices). /proc/scsi/scsi
shows this:

---------schnipp
# cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 05 Lun: 00
Vendor: Model: F Rev:
Type: Scanner ANSI SCSI revision: 01
---------schnipp

I only can see this after a completely cold start (power off). The old
controller shows the full description with correct vendor. This is my
configuration:

/usr/local/etc/sane.d/dll.conf
---------schnipp
net
umax
---------schnipp

/usr/local/etc/sane.d/umax.conf
---------schnipp
scsi *
scsi * * Scanner
scsi UMAX
scsi LinoHell Office
/dev/scanner
/dev/sga
---------schnipp

Any idea?

Regards,

Thomas
