O.K. - does it have any jumpers ? Do you need to enter an adress for the
win software ?

In that case it is probably not plug&play, and chances are, you can just
insert the driver using insmod sym53c416 io=the_address_you_give_to_win.

Does your (PNP) BIOS identify the card ?

In that case, try isapnptools. This package has quite clear documentation,
but make sure you read _all_ of it.

If it is found by the pnptools, you can configure the cards ports, irq, ...
You will probably have to pass those parameters to the module just as
above, then.

If nothing else helps, send me the driver source, so I can find out a little
about the variables you _can_ set at all.
