Since it advertises itself as a Vobis HighScan it is indeed a variant of
the ScanMaker 330. Up to now I know about three variants of this model.
They differ slightly in their capabilities. Obviously the difference between
the E3+ (=Vobis HighScan) and the ScanMaker 330 is, that the E3+ has a
bigger scan area.

Indeed :-) . The microtek2 backend in sane-0.74 supports only two models. One
of them is the Vobis HighScan, which is the same as the E3+, as I learnt
now.
