I don't have a casio, I have a grey markey Fuji ds-7 however and I
collected some digital camera information. There is protocol information
(and software) for your camera.

Interesting pages of interest:

http://www.itojun.org/itojun.html
(look under digital camera related tools, also rs232 snooper)

http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~xg2k-hys/index-e.html

other digital camera links I have laying around...
http://www.average.org/digicam/
http://www.wsrcc.com/wolfgang/camera/
http://topo.math.u-psud.fr/~bousch/fujiplay.html
http://www.itojun.org/digi-cam/list/
http://www.yk.rim.or.jp/~mamo/Computer/DS-7/index-e.html

I'd say the key to buying a digital camera for unix/linux is to make
sure the camera doesn't produce a proprietary image format. Most of
the transfer protocols are being figured out, but the image stuff is
more difficult.

Hope this helps,
Mike
