here is a new version of the xhp backend:

You need the files README.xhp (installation instructions) and
sane-0.73.xhp.0.63.tar.gz (sources and patches to SANE).
Changes:
- fixed problem with custom gamma table
- added button to unload media (where possible)
Could someone run the backend on a HP flatbed scanner and
give a problem report ?
