Looking for help

I don't think I am in the right place, so please forgive the intrusion
as I am hoping to find out where I should be looking :)

I am using SANE for OS/2 with a Microtek E3.

Using the standard command from the readme, which is,

scanimage -d microtek -l 0 -t 0 -x 120 -y 180 > out.pnm,

I can get what I need from the scanner. However, for the life of me, I
cannot figure out how to adjust the brightness and contrast on the
command line. (or any of the other options, like line art, black and
white, resolution, etc.

I have tried the PM SANE that is on hobbes, and it does not work quite
right, so I can live with the command line, if I can figure out how to
make adjustments prior to scanning.

I have looked thru the docs, and tried the -h to get help, but either
its not there, or I am very dense :)

Can anyone help, or just point me to the right place to ask?

Thanks very much.

Regards,

John
