We also use a NCR53C810 for the scanner and a NCR/SymbiosLogic 53C860 for our
other SCSI devices. The scanner is a Microtek Scanamker E6 which doesn't
support SCSI-2 disconnect/reselect. However, this is exactly why we use two DMA
bus master cards. The card that comes with the scanner (aha152x )isn't bus
master capable. We are also using the BSD driver and the use of the two SCSI
controllers solved our disk access problems perfectly. So, maybe the first
person needs a SCSI BIOS upgrade or something. Just to make sure: The scanner
is attached to the NCR53C810 and the rest to the NCR/SymbiosLogic 53C860.
