jscanimage won't scan

Here are some additional information on the behavior of Jscanimage:
First it loads the umax-backend (why that -- I have a mustek ?).
After deleting all backends but mustek it loads the mustek-backend.
But the issued scsi-commands differ from that sent by xscanimage:
