It works VERY well, in all of the scan modes.
I'm having trouble getting Xscanimage to work as a GIMP plugin, GIMP is
not seeing it. It could be a problem with the fact that I'm using the
script in sane/frontend. Is it possible to build a xscanimage binary?
Also, SANE did NOT detect GTK when I installed it using the RPMS from the
GIMP FTP site. I'm running RedHat 4.2 x86. So, I had to add -lgtk to the
GTKLIBS option in the Makefile under Frontend.
Also, does SANE work on the Alpha under Linux? I'm kinda curious to try
it, I have a UDB 166.

P.S. Has anyone given though to integrating support with one of the JPEG
programs to save disk space while scanning? An output to JPEG would
REALLY help. I'm more of a system administrator working in Perl and shell
scripts than C, so I don't think I have the knowledge to integrate it in
myself.
