Eep. I changed this in my copy as well, and that stopped the segfaults,
but what I get from scanimage now is:
ec@bashir:7:~> scanimage
P6
# SANE data follows
849 1169
255
ec@bashir:8:~>
So I've grabbed the command-line Umax package, and tried the Tk interface.
I got a lot of insufficient memory messages, got one successful "lineart"
preview scan, and when I tried a full "lineart" scan of a quarter-page, it
locked my system.
Do I really need to get more memory for the scanner, or should I give up
on this PAS16 SCSI card?
