Yes. I suppose this is caused by the wrong LD-correction code being active.
Please have a look at the source. There is a flag which is set for
the MFS 12000-SP for FW-revision <1.02 . Try to hack this in for your
scanner and tell us what happens.

Please be careful with this. Do not set the height too high. Though it didn't
do permanent damage to my scanner when it was set a bit too high, I have
heard of someone shredding his mechanics with a way too high setting.
